2022-2023 REGISTRATION INFORMATION


HAWKS ATHLETIC CLUB REGISTRATION IS OPEN FOR THE 2022-2023 SEASON!

The 2022-23 Hockey Season is tentatively set to begin on October 1, 2022.

 

Evaluations for players will begin the beginning of September 2022.  Each age division will be emailed with their evaluation dates/times/locations once our ice times are confirmed.

 

The Hawks Athletic Club is a member of Hockey Edmonton.  We provide programs for boys and girls aged 4 to 12 years, residing in the City of Edmonton, north of Stony Plain Road and the MacKinnon Ravine to the City boundary and west of 97 Street to the City boundary (exclusive of the communities known as Westwood, Rossdale, Griesbach and Rosslyn).  You will find our program fun, exciting and competitive, with our main goal being the development of skating and hockey skills.  We represent over 30 communities with teams in the U7 (Discovery, Jr. Timbits and Sr. Timbits), U9, U11 and U13 categories.  For more information on our club's boundaries, check out Hockey Edmonton's District Map .

 

Online Registration is available:  July 1, 2022.

 

***IMPORTANT NOTE FOR U13 PLAYERS wanting to try out for KC U13AA or CAC U13AA.***  You DO NOT register with the Hawks.  You register with KC or, depending on where you live, register with CAC for U13AA Tryouts.  If your player does not make a team with KC/CAC then you register online with the Hawks.  You will still get the early bird fee.

 

We are using HCR 3.0/My Spordle Account (same as last season) which the parent creates and then adds all members of the household to this account - including coaches - to register for hockey.

 

TRANSFERRING PLAYERS - you will not be able to register online until we have requested a transfer from your old club.  In order to obtain the transfer you must complete the online Parent Declaration form.  Enter registrar@hawksathletics.ca in the MINOR HOCKEY ASSOCIATION SUBMISSION box.  Attach Proof of Residency (a current utility bill - first page only showing name and address) from EPCOR, Direct Energy, or ENMAX.  Upload your utility bill in Proof of Residency Document 1, Document 2, or All Documents (this is found at the very end of the Parent Declaration form).

 

RETURNING PLAYERS - Register with HCR 3.0/My Spordle Account (same as last season) in which the parent creates and then adds all members of the household to this account - including coaches - to register for hockey.  ***IF YOUR PLAYER PLAYED WITH US LAST YEAR, USE YOUR EXISTING MY SPORDLE ACCOUNT LOGIN.***  You will search for your player using name and birthdate.

 

A completed registration for RETURNING PLAYERS includes:

 

  • If you have moved - You must complete the online Parent Declaration Form and upload Proof of Residency.  In the body of the form, please enter registrar@hawksathletics.ca in the MINOR HOCKEY ASSOCIATION SUBMISSION box.  Attach your Proof of Residency (a current utility bill - first page only showing name and address) from EPCOR, Direct Energy, or ENMAX.  Upload your utility bill in Proof of Residency Document 1, Document 2, or All Documents (this is found at the very end of the Parent Declaration form).
  • Valid Respect in Sport Parent Online Course (RIS) (valid for 4 years).  If you have to redo your RIS Parent as it has expired, remember to select NW HAWKS as the association.  This is very important!
  • If you are working the MANDATORY BINGO, go to the Hawks website and book your bingo online here:  Bingo Information and Online Bingo Sign-Up
  • If you are working the MANDATORY BINGO, you must submit a $300.00 deposit.  You can do this by cheque or credit card.  If you are submitting your deposit by cheque ensure it is UNDATED and made payable to HAWKS ATHLETIC CLUB and mailed to Hawks Athletic Club, 12808-134A Avenue NW, Edmonton, AB   T5L 3W6.  If you are securing your $300.00 deposit with a credit card number, please contact gaming@hawksathletics.ca or by calling (780) 267-4367.  Please note that the cheque will not be cashed nor will the credit card number be charged, UNLESS you do not show up for your scheduled bingo.
  •  Payment:
    • Online with Visa or MasterCard.
    • We will also accept e-transfers.  The e-transfer must be sent concurrent with the registration.

      • Your e-transfer can be sent to registrar@hawksathletics.ca.  Please use security question "what sport is this"?   Answer:  hockey
      • It would be preferred that the e-transfer be for the full amount, HOWEVER, we will accept 50% of the fee at the time of registration and the remaining 50% BEFORE September 1st. You MUST put your player's FULL NAME in the memo field so that the e-transfer can be applied to your registration.
      • Please note:  The Hawks are providing members with the courtesy of using Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT).  Please provide the funds in the timelines indicated (FULL AMOUNT NOW    or    50% at the time of registration and 50% before September 1st).  The Hawks will not accept random payments of varying dollar amounts on dates of your choosing.  In other words, EFT is not to be viewed as a personal payment plan.
  • If you require alternate payment arrangements, please contact the Registrar, Lorraine Toth, by email at registrar@hawksathletics.ca to discuss.
  • Money Orders will be accepted.
  • Personal cheques will no longer be accepted.

 

A completed registration for NEW PLAYERS includes:

 

  • You must complete the online Parent Declaration Form and provide the following documents:
    • Copy of BIRTH CERTIFICATE or PASSPORT.  Please upload this document at the end of the Parent Declaration form under "Proof of Residency DOCUMENT 2" OR "Proof of Residency ALL DOCUMENTS".
    • Copy of Alberta Health Care Card.  Please upload this document at the end of the Parent Declaration form under "Proof of Residency DOCUMENT 2" OR "Proof of Residency ALL DOCUMENTS".
    • Copy of a current utility bill - first page only showing name and address.  We will only accept EPCOR, Direct Energy or ENMAX.  Upload this document at the end of the Parent Declaration form under "Proof of Residency DOCUMENT 1, DOCUMENT 2, or ALL DOCUMENTS.
  • In the body of the Parent Declaration form, please enter registrar@hawksathletics.ca in the MINOR HOCKEY ASSOCIATION SUBMISSION box.  You MUST do this so that the Parent Declaration with supporting documentation is received by the Hawks' Registrar.
  • You must have a valid Respect in Sport Parent Online Course (RIS) completed.  Note that only ONE parent is required to complete the course.  Where the course asks you to select an association please select NW HAWKS.  This is VERY IMPORTANT.  Also note that your RIS Parent is valid for 4 years after which the course must be redone.  If you have to redo your RIS Parent as it has expired, again, remember to select NW HAWKS as the association.
  • If you are working the MANDATORY BINGO, go to the Hawks website and book your bingo online here:  Bingo Information and Online Bingo Sign-Up

NOTE:  Siblings of current Hawks Athletic Club players are considered NEW PLAYERS.  You must complete the online Parent Declaration form (link below) and attach all the documents listed below to the Parent Declaration for the NEW PLAYER only.  You must also log into your Respect in Sport Parent account and under "Child Management" add your new player (selecting NW HAWKS as the association).   You do not have to complete another Respect in Sport Parent course for this new player......the expiry date applicable for your current player will apply to your new player.

*Hawks require additional fees of $200 for U11 Tier 1 players, and $125 for U11 Tier 2 players:

  • U11 Tiers 1 & 2 will play 24 games, with the Tier 1 games being 1.25 hours, as per the Edmonton Federation Hockey League Standards of Play.  The additional fees cover the cost of extra game ice-time and four additional practice ice slots allocated to U11 Tier 1 & 2.

  • The additional fees for U11 Tiers 1 & 2 for players selected to these teams, are payable to the Hawks Athletic Club before October 1st.

      

 * *An undated deposit cheque in the amount of $300.00 must be submitted at the time of registration to reserve your bingo date. (It can be mailed to Hawks Athletic Club, 12808-134A Avenue NW, Edmonton, AB T5L 3W6). Your cheque will be returned after the bingo is worked. If you no longer have cheques you MUST leave a credit card number to use as a bingo deposit. Your credit card will not be charged unless you default on your bingo. Any paperwork containing your credit card information will be shredded after your bingo is worked. Please contact the Hawks’ Gaming Director at gaming@hawksathletics.ca or call (780) 267-4367 with your credit card number.

 

If you DO NOT want to work the mandatory bingo it can be paid out for an extra $200.00 in fees AT THE TIME OF REGISTRATION ONLY.
