2018-2019 Registration Information

Why play hockey with us?

The following documents are required for all NEW TO THE HAWKS players:

• REGISTRATION FORM
• A copy of player's Birth Certificate
• A copy of Alberta Health Care Card
• Proof of Residency (i.e., recent utility bill)
• A completed Parent Declaration Form (DOWNLOAD FORM)
• A completed RESPECT IN SPORT PARENT PROGRAM CERTIFICATE

RESPECT IN SPORT - ALL PLAYERS

In the spring of 2017, Hockey Alberta announced that - effective for the 2018-19 season - Parents and Coaches/Team Officials would be required to recertify their Respect in Sport every four seasons. The requirement to recertify comes into effect on May 1.

For the 2018-19 season, the requirement to recertify affects Parents and Coaches/Team Officials who completed their Respect in Sport certification prior to the 2015-16 season.  You should have received an email from Hockey Canada and/or Hockey Alberta in May informing you that you need to recertify. 

To initiate re-certification, login to:

If you assumed that the message was spam, the Respect Group has set up a website for parents to check if their certification is still valid:

You MUST complete this prior to your child taking part in ANY ON-ICE activity - including evaluations.  This is a MANDATORY PROGRAM!

Summary:  All registrants must work ONE bingo, to a maximum of TWO bingos per family. If you want to "opt out" of working the bingo, please add $100.00 to your registration fee. The fee option of $100.00 to "opt out" of the bingo is only available at the time of registration. If you choose to "opt out" after the season has started the "opt-out fee after you register" will be $200.00.

Please include an undated, signed cheque in the amount of $200.00 for your bingo deposit. This cheque will be returned to you after your bingo has been worked. When your bingo requirement has been satisfied this cheque will be returned to you.  If you no longer have cheques, we will require a credit card number together with the applicable expiry date, or a $200 cash deposit.

1. Online Registration

2. Scan and Email Registration

Scan and e-mail your registration documents to registrar@hawksathletics.ca.

If you are a returning player, please scan and e-mail the following:

1. Your pre-printed registration form with payment information completed

If you are a first time player with the Hawks, please scan and e-mail the following:

1. REGISTRATION FORM
2. PARENT DECLARATION FORM
3. A copy of the player's Birth Certificate or Passport.
4. A copy of the player's Alberta Health Card.
5. Proof of Residency (i.e., a utility bill such as Epcor, Enmax, Direct Energy)

Mail completed registration form with required documents and payment for registration fees, along with undated, signed bingo deposit cheque(s), to:

4. Next In-Person Registration - September 8, 2018

Returning players - please bring your pre-printed registration form with you and ensure that all the information is accurate. Our primary method of communication is e-mail so please make sure that the e-mail address(es) are correct. Blank registration forms for new players will be available at registration.

This registration date is primarily for younger children in the Discovery, Junior Timbits and Senior Timbits Divisions as their season does not start until early October. Forms of payment accepted: Cash, Debit, Cheques, Visa, MasterCard.  Plus, you can book your mandatory bingo during the in-person registration date.

NOTE REGARDING COMMUNITY LEAGUES:

It is no longer mandatory to have a community league membership to play hockey in Edmonton. However, Hawks Athletic Club continues to support our community leagues and strongly encourage our members to purchase their community league memberships. To find out how you can purchase your community league membership please contact your community league or visit www.efcl.org.

The Hawks Athletic Club will NOT be giving out or selling any community league membership cards or skate tags.
