Attendance and seating capacity at City of Edmonton arenas

Oct. 05, 2020

We have unfortunately received some complaints about being over capacity at some of our games held this past weekend which resulted in some players not having anyone in the arena to watch them.  We are all excited to have hockey back but as capacity for arenas varies this means we will have to limit spectators per player.

Going forward the limitations shown in the link below will have to be followed. This unfortunately means grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. who enjoy watching the kids play, won’t be able to attend at this time. If these limitations are not followed on the honor system we will have no choice but to restrict attendance further.

Please be mindful and respectful of those families that may not have other options and need to bring other children into the facility. Hopefully as the season progresses these limitations will change.

Notes:

Arenas not listed continue to operate at 25% of capacity to a maximum of 100 spectators.

Team Managers should touch base with the opposing manager to work out any concerns.

For Arenas not listed please follow the below chart to determine spectators:

Capacity < 37 people - no spectators
Capacity 37 - 70 - 1 spectator per player
Capacity 71 - 90 - 2 spectators per player
Capacity 91 - 100 - Up to 3 spectators per player
